Description

Starting at the Maison du Tourisme, this medium-difficulty loop explores Crans-Montana’s finest slopes. After skirting the Grenon pond, the climb winds its way up to the Chermignon lake, before continuing towards the Corbyre alpine pasture and the iconic Chetzeron hotel – a perfect stop overlooking the Alps. The descent begins through meadows and forests, passing the lake once again, then looping around Crans via wooded trails. The route then connects to the Family Forest Loop – a fun skills area to practise balance and technique. The return follows the Moubra lake, ideal for a break by the water, before the final climb back to the starting point in Ycoor. A well-rounded ride combining effort, flow and scenery, from sweeping viewpoints to peaceful lakeshores.

Our favorites

Our favorite itineraries are part of a selection of the best routes in the region and are proposed by Valais/Wallis Promotion to best meet the expectations of our guests.

Turn-by-turn directions

Starting from the Maison du Tourisme, the route skirts the Grenon lake, then climbs gently along the tree-lined Zotzet road. It then enters the forest and ascends towards the Chermignon lake.

The trail continues north-east through the woods to Arnouva, then reaches the Corbyre alpine pasture, set in a quiet mountain landscape. The route climbs higher still, reaching over 2100 metres, and passes by the iconic Chetzeron hotel-restaurant. This is the ideal place for a break on the terrace with panoramic views over the Rhône valley.

The MTB descent flows smoothly through pastures and woodland to the shores of Chermignon lake then skirts Crans from the west to the south via forest paths. Shortly after lake Miriouges, a fun detour leads to the Family Forest Loop.

The final section runs along Moubra lake – a perfect spot to pause – before the last climb up towards the centre of Crans-Montana and Ycoor.
