Description

This demanding route fascinates sporty bikers seeking intense natural experiences and alpine views.

From the historic Mühlebach with its sun-tanned wooden houses, the route leads uphill on a pleasant forest road to the scenic Chäserstatt.

From there, it goes significantly steeper uphill to Galestafel and then down on an exciting path into the secluded Rappetal to Z'Mübach.

Afterwards, you can ride back to Mühlebach on the regional route Valais Panorama Bike.

The route combines forest roads, alpine atmosphere, and exciting trail sections into a real experience. Ideal as a sporty all-mountain route with natural enjoyment.

Turn-by-turn directions

At Mühlebach, follow the main road towards Goms for about 1 kilometer. At Lärch, turn right and follow the road uphill to Chäserstatt.

From there, continue to point 2119 at Lärch and go straight ahead. At Schäre, follow the path straight over Galestafel towards Z’Mübach. At point 2141 at Galestafel, turn left.

Just before Z’Mübach, at point 1982, turn right or continue along the singletrail a few meters further to Z'Mübach.

A stop on the terrace of the mountain inn Chäserstatt is worth it – the view into the Rhone Valley is spectacular, the cuisine regional and fresh.

Information

Public transport

You can reach Brig by train (SBB). From there, take the regional train towards Andermatt. Depending on the connection, change to the bus to Ernen in Lax or Fiesch. From there, take the bus to Mühlebach. Note, the number of places for mountain bikes is limited.

Alternatively, you can also take the regional train from Brig to the Fürgangen-Bellwald valley station and then ride your mountain bike over the spectacular suspension bridge to Mühlebach.

Remember to reserve a place for your mountain bike via the SBB Mobile App or on sbb.ch.

Approach

From Zurich: motorway A4 or A3 to Flüelen; A2 to Göschenen; Furka Base Tunnel; towards Goms, Mühlebach.

From Bern: motorway A6 to Spiez; towards Kandersteg; car shuttle Kandersteg-Goppenstein; towards Goms, Mühlebach.

From Geneva: motorway A1 to Lausanne; A9 towards Brig, towards Goms, Mühlebach.

From Milan: motorway A8/A26 towards Simplon; car shuttle Iselle-Brig; towards Brig, Goms, Mühlebach.

Parking

There are parking spaces at the sports field in Ernen near Mühlebach. However, we recommend you park your vehicle in Fiesch or Fürgangen and from there ride your mountain bike directly over the spectacular suspension bridge at Fürgangen. For arrival by public transport: Remember to reserve a place for your mountain bike on sbb.ch.
