Description

This route starts in Binn and begins with a gentle climb on a beautiful forest road to Äbnimatt – the perfect introduction to a varied mountain bike experience.

Soon it gets more exciting: the trail down to Bärg surprises with rooty sections, tight switchbacks, and small technical challenges – a pleasure for experienced all-mountain and enduro bikers.

The following section leads through the dense, moss-green Schlundwald – quiet, cool, and mystical. After passing through the Ärnerwald, the panorama opens towards Ernen, where a detour to the historic village center with a baroque church and cobblestone streets is well worth it.

At the end, the connecting paths wind impressively towards Fiesch – a scenic finale. This route combines alpine wilderness with cultural highlights – for sporty bikers with a sense of nature and atmosphere.

Our favorites

Our favorite itineraries are part of a selection of the best routes in the region and are proposed by Valais/Wallis Promotion to best meet the expectations of our guests.

Turn-by-turn directions

From Binn, follow the road downstream into the Binntal and turn left at the first bridge after 500 meters. Follow the road uphill to Rufenacher.

The route then continues on a forest road up to Äbnimatt. There, a singletrail begins, which you follow to Bärg. Keep to the right there.

The path now runs a bit flatter through the Schlundwald and further to point 1405 at Chouegga. There, turn onto the road and follow it downhill to Ernen. To reach the village center, turn left there.

After the village center, turn right and follow the field path to Breita. There turn right again, where you follow the path down to the power plant.

Ride up to the cantonal road and turn right there. At the roundabout, take the second exit and shortly afterwards turn left to Fiesch Feriendorf station.
