Rottenweg Bitsch-Lalden

The so-called Red Mile from Bitsch to Brig offers magnificent panoramic views of the Rhône Valley and the surrounding Alps and follows the former Furka-Oberalp trade route. This hiking trail from Brig leads through the colourful landscape along the Rhône to Lalden. The route is mainly flat and offers a pleasant mix of Nature and urban surroundings. On leaving Naters, you’ll pass the World Nature Forum, an important centre for nature and environmental protection dedicated to promoting sustainable thinking and action. From Brig, the route then follows the Rhône, which flows gently through the valley.
