The path leads from Engeloch down to the Krummbach, over the Alpstafel Chlusmatte and the following slope on the left bank of the Ritzibach up to the Wysse Bode. At the end of the valley floor, the trail goes through a steep slope with rock ledges. These are overcome east of the waterfall via the ramp. Then follows a steep ascent on the moraine to the Sirwoltesee. After a well-deserved rest at the upper lake, it goes eastwards over the steep scree slope further to the upper Wysse Bode. You climb the ramp and continue through the hollow to the ridge between Schildhorn and Wyssbodehorn. Pay close attention to the red-white markers.
The ascent to Wyssbodehorn is rewarded with an unforgettable panoramic view over the entire Simplon valley with the Monte Leone massif, the fascinating insight into the Fletschhorn north face in the west, the Valais Alps in the north, and the mountain scenery of Ossola in the south. The descent to Simplon Dorf is initially pleasant and then becomes steeper.
