Bisses

Bisse du Torrent-Neuf

Built before 1430, the Bisse du Torrent-Neuf or Savièse (Torrent-Neuf or Savièse Waterway) was the most daring irrigation project ever undertaken. It is sourced from the River Morge, exiting the gorge via a very rough, steep route and providing an abundant supply of water. The walk covers a distance of 2.4 km along an elevated path between Ste-Marguerite and the Brac refreshment bar. It is easily accessible thanks to nearby car parks in the municipality of Savièse and can also be reached by public transport. Hikers wishing to return by bus from Tripon should take note of the timetable for the only bus service connecting Tripon to Savièse at the end of the day.
