Description
On 22 and 23 August 2025, the Tour des Stations will be offering a unique challenge: climbing the total height of Mount Everest, 8,848 metres, in a single day in the heart of the Valais Alps. This cyclosportive event offers four routes suitable for all levels, linking iconic resorts in Valais such as Verbier, Crans-Montana, Nendaz, Ovronnaz, Anzère, Vercorin, Nax, Saint-Martin, Hérémence, Thyon 4 Vallées, Veysonnaz and La Tzoumaz. The route options are: • Ultrafondo - The Everest: 242 km and 8,848 m of elevation gain, the ultimate challenge for experienced cyclists. • Superfondo: 185 km and 6,800 m of elevation gain, for those looking for an intense challenge. • Marmotte Granfondo: 133 km and 4,700 m of elevation gain, a prestigious event forming part of the Marmotte Granfondo Series. • Mediofondo: 74 km and 2,850 m of elevation gain, ideal for those looking for a more moderate challenge. The legendary route includes renowned ascents such as the Col du Lein (1,685 metres above sea level), the Col de la Croix-de-Cœur (2,175 metres above sea level) and Thyon 2000 (2,090 metres above sea level), offering spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. To make this challenge more accessible, a night-time start of the Ultrafondo will be offered on Friday evening at 9.30 pm, giving participants an extra five hours to complete the course, while enjoying the festive atmosphere of the finish village in Verbier. Whether you're an experienced cyclist or a keen amateur, the Tour des Stations offers an unforgettable experience, combining physical endeavour, breathtaking Alpine scenery and a festive atmosphere.
