Folklore Festival

Associations from all over Switzerland show their tradition with music, traditional costumes, dances and colourful costumes from nostalgic times. The big parade through Zermatt is the highlight. In addition, guests can expect a wide variety of food and drink, performances by the clubs and an exciting entertainment programme for children. The net proceeds from the festival go to the Zermatt Youth Fund. Every franc helps the youth to implement various projects in Zermatt. Programme Saturday 🕦 11:30 – Performances in the mountains (Buffet & Bar Sunnegga and Hotel Riffelhaus 1853) 🎺 17:15 – Parade through Bahnhofstrasse to the church square ⛪ 17:30 – Joint church service with flag consecration and performances in the church and on the church square 🧀 18:00 – Raclette gathering at the Obere Matten festival grounds 🎶 18:00 - 20:30 – Official celebration with concert performances and the Polkafreunde Zermatt 🎟️ 19:30 – Tombola draw Programme Sunday ⛪ 10:00 – Yodelling mass at St. Mauritius Parish Church with the Jodelklub Tschiferli-Cheerli Obwalden 🍴 11:00–20:00 – Festival food and drinks at the Obere Matten festival grounds 🎭 13:30 – Traditional folklore parade through Zermatt 🎶 From 15:00 – Performances by participating groups at the Obere Matten festival grounds
