Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc ®
The Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc ® takes in 3 countries. Participants can choose between seven trail running races, of which five passes through Valais. The UTMB® (Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc®) measures 170 km with 10,000m of ascent; a complete tour of the Mont Blanc Massif, it is considered the original and “queen” of the races. The CCC® (Courmayeur – Champex – Chamonix) measures 100 km with 6,100m of ascent and is known by many runners as “the little one”. The PTL® (la Petite Trotte à Léon) is “grand” tour of Mont-Blanc: a non-competitive team event measuring 300 km with 25,000 m of ascent. OCC (Orsières – Champex – Chamonix) measures 55 km with 3,500m of ascent and is considered the little Swiss sister. MCC (Martigny-Combe – Chamonix), 40 km with 2,300m of ascent, a team building race. These mountain races have numerous passages at high altitude, often in difficult conditions (night, wind, cold, rain or snow).
