Situated on a southern slope high above Sion, Veysonnaz overlooks the Rhone Valley and to the Bernese Alps. The town combines a well-maintained authentic village structure with modern tourist infrastructures. The traditional ascent of the cows to the pastures every June and the legendary Ehringer cow fights are as popular as the World Cup on the “Piste de l’Ours” above Veysonnaz. The hikes above protected rough pastures along the carefully restored bisses (the fifteenth-century irrigation channels) make Veysonnaz just as attractive as its access to the enormous “4 Vallées” ski resort.
