Bicentenary Path

The Bicentenary Path (Chemin du Bicentenaire) is a theme trail inaugurated in 2015 to celebrate the 200th anniversary of Valais joining the Swiss Confederation. The route is located at the Col du Lein, home to one of Europe’s largest woodland pastures. As walkers follow the easy trail, they encounter 34 information panels that explore different aspects of Valais – with a special focus on the larch, the dominant tree of the region’s forests. The walk starts by the Golly pond, and takes about an hour and a half.
