Understanding the production of green energy and the thermal recovery of waste. enevi – formerly UTO –Usine de Traitement des Ordures du Valais central – and Valpellets SA are located on the same industrial site in Uvrier in the heart of Valais. The former works for the population of the 29 partner municipalities, and after starting as a simple incineration plant, has become a thermal recovery infrastructure and a reliable and competitive producer of renewable energy. Its services also include management of the GastroVert© food waste collection system for the central Valais region and of inter-municipal waste collection centres, as well as a consultancy and support service for its partner municipalities in their thinking and planning.

Valpellets produces and markets wood pellets used for heating private and public homes. The enterprise benefits from the thermal and electrical heat produced by enevi to dry the chips, sawdust or forest wood needed to produce the pellets.
