You’ll hear “Güätä Tag!” here too, the customary greeting in the pleasant Valais dialect. Every Thursday in summer and winter alike, “Insche Frontag” (Our Thursday) gives you a glimpse of village life. The lovingly renovated buildings, such as the sawmill, mill, bell foundry, bakery and washhouse, still bear witness to an age dominated by art. The parish church is considered the most important sacred Baroque building in Upper Valais. Sports enthusiasts too are in their element in the beautiful mountain village – cycling tours, hiking tours, cross-country skiing, snowshoe tours – Reckingen has everything the heart desires.
