Stockalper's Palace

It is the stuff of bestsellers and blockbusters: the life of the shrewd trader Kaspar Stockalper (1609–1691) was a tale of hunger for power and fabulous wealth, but also intrigues and family misfortune. His most prominent legacy is Stockalper Palace in Brig, a delightful setting for film festivals, exhibitions and concerts. And it is much more than a mere backdrop: life pulsates between its arcades and park benches – as wonderfully close to heaven as Stockalper intended.
