A winter paradise for skiing, somewhere between heaven and earth. The majestic four-thousanders form a magnificent setting dedicated to winter sports. If you like winter, you’ll love Valais! The possibilities are boundless and snow is guaranteed. No great surprise when you realise that Valais is the region in Switzerland that, thanks to the altitude of its ski areas, promises the best snow conditions on its 2400 kilometres of slopes.
Ski resort Morgins
The sunny village of Morgins is situated directly on the border to France and is part of the largest international linked ski area in the world, "Portes du Soleil". At this ski resort visitors travel only with skis from one station to the next, from one valley and country to another – a unique experience. Cross-country skiers will find 20 km of trails, including the popular high-altitude trail around Lac de Morgins. The Children's Snowland offers two lifts with varying difficulty so that the little ones can experience their first snow adventures. Morgins is also home to many renowned ski stars, including Didier Defago (alpine skiing), Yannick Ecoeur (ski touring), Joël Gaspoz (alpine skiing) and Martial Donnet (alpine skiing).
