The incredible Valais descents offer skiers unadulterated and endless fun. The descents are up to 17 kilometres long – non-stop, without ever having to use a ski lift. Some physical fitness is essential. And especially the love of skiing. And off you go down the perfect pistes, from the high peaks down into the valley. With fantastic carving conditions, challenging slopes and headlong schusses. The only reason for skiers to stop are the many picturesque ski huts situated along the pistes.
A skiers dream on Torrent, 9.7 km
It’s only a few minutes by funicular from Leukerbad to the Rinderhütte mountain station at 2,350m. From there the comfortable 6-seater Rinderhütte – Schwalbennest chairlift continues to the ski area’s highest point at an altitude of 2,610m. The 9.7-km-long dream run begins at the Schwalbennest mountain station. Now it’s time to schuss down the wide, groomed Lingelen run. Enjoy some easy carving before reaching the Torrentstafel, the most challenging part of the descent. It is best to focus on tight turns on this steep slope. After this technically demanding descent straighten your skis and glide effortlessly to the Torrentalp middle station. Complete the run by covering the 3.1 km down the gentle slopes of the Planedri to the valley cable car station in Flaschen.
Start: at the Schwalbennest summit station (2610 m)
End: to the Flaschen gondola base station (2350 m)
