Our favorites

Our favorite itineraries are part of a selection of the best routes in the region and are proposed by Valais/Wallis Promotion to best meet the expectations of our guests.

Turn-by-turn directions

The mountain bike route begins in the village square of Saas-Almagell. Ride between the Monte-Moro house and the Volg shop and follow the lane as far as the textile shop. At Zer Meiggeru, near the retention basin, take the tarmac road towards Eiju-Sand and then follow the track that climbs gently to the left. Cross the bridge and then turn left onto the earth track before crossing the field at the foot of the dam to reach the Mattmark restaurant. From here, you first pass through a pedestrian tunnel before riding along the western shore of the reservoir as far as Dischtelalp. You then ride back along the eastern shore of the lake via a narrower track to the dam. From here, begin your descent to Saas-Almagell by riding straight ahead first of all, and then following a zig-zag trail through a boulder-strewn slope down to the foot of the dam. The rest of the ride back to the starting point follows the outward leg.
