Vionnaz in the Upper Valais is a valley and mountain community. It stretches from the Rhone Valley up to the border of the Haute-Savoie, from where it is not far to the largest international ski resort in the world: the Portes du Soleil.

La Tour de Don, the highest point in the commune, offers stunning views over mountain forests and alpine meadows, over scattered villages of Mayen, Revereulaz and Torgon, the hamlets of Crébellay, Beffeux and Bonne Année. Looking back into the valley, the eye rests on the prominent tower of the Vionnaz parish church, as well as the city walls that once defended the village from floods.
