Goms

The Goms Valley extends from Gletsch, near the Rhône Glacier, up to the village of Grengiols, not far from Brig. With its hilly landscape and state-of-the-art facilities, the Goms Valley is regarded as a cross-country skiing paradise. In summer, in addition to hiking, cycling and paragliding, a range of other fun activities such as rafting are a must. For those with a more cultural bent, the famous Festival Musikdorf Ernen (an international music and literature festival) offers a large number of musical events against a picture postcard background. Not to mention one of the best-known inhabitants of Goms, namely César Ritz who greatly inspired local gastronomy.
