Riederalp

Riederalp is close to the Aletsch Glacier, the jewel of the UNESCO Natural World Heritage Site in the Swiss Alps Jungrau-Aletsch. The Victorian Villa Cassel, an information centre of the "Pro Natura" nature preservation organisation, can be reached by foot in 30 minutes. The Aletsch Arena consisting of the three villages Riederalp, Bettmeralp and Fiescheralp is a major winter sports and hiking area. It also includes Europe’s highest 9-hole golf course (directly in Riederalp), nearly endless bike trails, as well as a pedestrian suspension bridge up above the Mass Gorge between Riederalp and Belalp. A family paradise, this resort has been awarded the Family Destination label by the Swiss Tourism Federation.
