Daubensee

The peace and quite surrounding the Daubensee allows visitors to quickly leave behind the stress of their lives and revitalise their lives. From the Gemmi pass, a two-hour hiking trail leads around the lake Daubensee, a perfect trail to enjoy nature in peace. The classic Gemmi hike from Kandersteg towards Leukerbad also passes the shore of the lake Daubensee.The traditional shepherd festival takes place every year on the last Sunday of July when about 800 sheep converge on the shores of the lake. Celebrating the friendship between the neighbours from the Valais and the Bernese Oberland beyond the Gemmi pass is the ultimate goal of this festival. Also, Europe’s highest catamaran school is located at the lake Daubensee.
