The Pierre Gianadda Foundation

The Fondation Pierre Gianadda – a must-see in Martigny. The exhibition building was constructed in 1978 by Léonard Gianadda in memory of his late brother and, since then, has hosted works by some of the great artists, including Cézanne, Picasso, Matisse and Renoir. The Fondation also offers permanent exhibitions such as the Automobile Museum, which bings together about fifty old vehicles, and the Gallo-Roman Museum built around the remains of a Celtic temple. It is surrounded by a park, a kind of natural play area for 20th-century sculptures. But the town is also home to other magical art oases such as the Manoir and the Fondation Louis Moret, which are both outspoken in their support for contemporary art and creativity.
