Albinen next to Leukerbad
Situated on the sunny side of the Rhone valley Albinen is one of the most beautiful mountain villages in the Valais. Just 6 km away are the renowned thermal springs in Leukerbad.
Aletschgebiet
Aletsch Region
The Aletsch Region includes the terraced towns of Riederalp, Bettmeralp, Fiesch and Fiescheralp, as well as Naters-Blatten-Belalp and Mörel-Breiten. The Aletsch Glacier, the longest and mightiest glacier in the Alps, defines this holiday region surrounded by majestic mountain giants. A landscape of extraordinary beauty, the Jungfrau-Aletsch-Bietschhorn Region joined the UNESCO World Natural Heritage List in 2001.
Anzère
Anzère
Anzère lies on a sunny terrace 1500 m above the Rhone Valley and only 15 kilometres from Sitten, the canton capital. It emerged as a winter sports resort in the 1960s and commands magnificent views of the Rhone Valley and Valais Alps, making Anzère wonderful walking country in summer, too, with interesting tours along the historic suonen.
Arolla
Arolla
Arolla, a small resort renowned for mountaineering and high mountain ski tours. A friendly, welcoming village at 2'000 m altitude, lying at the foot of some of the most famous Alpine summits.
Belalp-Blatten-Naters
Belalp
A highly-colourful region, artistically draped between the valley with its bountiful harvests of fruit and the mountains capped with eternal snow. The deep attachment of the local people to their customs and traditions has a magical influence on the entire region around the Aletsch Glacier.
