The Medieval Town of Saillon

The poet hit the nail on the head: "Saillon... that warrior's helmet abandoned on the plain".

This fabulous past emerges as soon as you reach the town: it is a Neolithic, Roman and medieval past with a one thousand year old turret, which sems to have remained untouched by time. Saillon attracts more visitors today than ever before because of its authenticity, wines, fruit, hot springs, medieval festivals, craftsmen and, of course, Farinet, the much-loved bandit with a whole museum dedicated to him. There is also a footbridge and a vineyard which is "the smallest in the world".
