Bineri and Eggeri
This region has the lowest precipitation rates in Switzerland, with 50 to 55 mm per year, so artificial irrigation is indispensable. It is impossible to date the Grächen water system with any accuracy. The first written records date back to the 12th century. All the suonen are fed by the Riedbach stream. The Eggeri, probably the oldest of them, draws its water at 1840 m while the Bineri has its intake at 1738 m.
