Corpus Christi

Great religious festivals will take place every year in a lot of valaisan villages as for exemple the Corpus Christi procession, the adoration of the Eurcharist, which is celebrated on the second Thursday after Pentcost.

On Corpus Christi day, people will travel over hill and dale to take part in the Lord God's procession to celebrate this important religious festival. Wearing the costume of the old mercenaries or in the uniforms of the old Valaisan regiments, the Lord God's grenadiers will accompany the parish priest and the entire village population to the sound of the traditional processional march in places such as Visperterminen, Bürchen, Törbel, Mund, St. Niklaus, Lötschental, St-Martin or Savièse.
